Dharma Vision Development by Itihas Recitation and Reading

In last 100 years or so, we often witness burning of scriptures like Manu Smriti, Bhagvad Gita and recently Ramacharita Manas.

Reason behind such societal response is in lack of education of Itihas at right age.

Many a times when epic poems are only read literally, chances are there that readers will receive confused state as a gift. Some of them start blaming scriptures for present situations. What we miss is that epic poems are not meant for mere literal reading. When our conditioned minds fail to grasp literally, it is time read subtly.

As it is said many a times by Ved Vyas that his writings possesses सुक्ष्मार्थन्याय.

Unfortunately, with our modern education, we lost दृष्टि to read with subtle understanding. This leads to misunderstanding. Anti-dharma forces exploit this weakness and quote shallow literal examples to convert many of us against us (Like using EkLavya story to divide society on Varna and inject poison in minds or Ahalya story or Draupadi)! Beware!

If you want your child to develop this दृष्टि, make sure they sit with the texts. Recite them. Listen them. Ramayana and Mahabharat as TV serials, cartoons - never!

Let them sit with Bhagwad Gita, Upanishada(after age 10). Without them, सुक्ष्मार्थन्याय in Mahabharata and Ramayana is difficult to understand.
